Launched in 1997 by Daewoo, the Nubira is produced in three different variants in the compact segment: a 4-door sedan a 5-door hatchback and a 5-door station wagon.
United States Nubira models came equipped only with an Australian built Holden produced DOHC 16-valve 2.0-liter inline-4 General Motors "D-Tec" gasoline engine. This came paired with either a Daewoo-designed D-20 five-speed manual transaxle or optional GM sourced 4T40E automatic. This engine is able to deliver 129 hp, making it a middle member of its segment in performance and power. Fairly comfortable in its five-door versions, the four-door is more of a compact than the others. This car can accommodate four to five passengers for short drives in a daily basis. However, it may be more comfortable in long drivers for a single or couple.
