This full-sized front-wheeler sedan, very similar to Chrysler’s 300M, Concorde and New Yorker, was sold under the Chrysler brand in Canada and Mexico. The first generation of these vehicles was made from 1993 to 1997, and had 3.3 or 3.5 L V6 engines as well as a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The second generation introduced some brand new ideas. Engines were replaced with all new aluminum units: a DOHC 2.7 L with 200 hp V6, 3.2 L, 225 hp V6, and finally 3.5 L V6 engines getting up to 234 hp. The Intrepid was also a regular participant in NASCAR until 2004. There is also a series of hybrid electric cars. As a sports car, the Dodge Intrepid is not great in fuel economy, at around 4.8gals/100miles. For all of you sporty souls, this four-wheeler is just the thing to revive your passion for a good drive.
