Introduced in 2010 as a part of the Ford F-Series model family, the Raptor is focused towards off-road use and while a road-legal vehicle, many design modifications of the Raptor were made to improve its off-road capability, with the vehicle featuring a model-exclusive suspension with long-travel springs and shocks. This car is still produced in its second generation.
For 2010, the SVT Raptor was powered by a 310 hp 5.4L V8 engine while a 411 hp 6.2L V8 became optional, replacing the 5.4L V8 for 2011. A six-speed automatic is the sole transmission paired with both engines. To improve fuel economy and reduce weight, the 6.2L V8 was replaced by a 450hp 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission for the second generation. Available on both two and four-door variants, this is a sturdy and reliable vehicle that can accommodate from four to five passengers comfortably in its bigger version, making it ideal for families while having a pretty big cargo area in the back.
