The Top 5 Used Ford SUVs to Buy Under $6000

In the past decade, more Americans are turning to SUVs as their car of choice over sedans. This trend led to Ford’s decision to discontinue the production of most of their sedans. The share market for sedans fell from 38% in 2012 to 26% in 2017. Ford SUVs lose at least 40% of its value within three years. The demand for SUVs is great news for used car buyers since they also have more affordable Ford SUVs to choose from.

1. 2008 Ford Escape XLT

A used 2008 Ford Escape XLT can be bought at an average of $5,946, depending on the condition of the car and where you buy it from. It is even possible to get this car for as low as $3,500. In the NHTSA crash tests, this car got 4-stars in the front driver side and 5-stars in the front passenger. It got 5-stars in the side crash tests for both the driver and passenger side barriers.
