You don’t need to clean out your bank account just to own your dream car… A used vehicle is a great alternative to brand new vehicles especially if you are on a budget.

You could always walk into a used vehicle dealership or take a car off a friend’s or neighbors hand at an agreed price – and viola! You are a car owner.

1. Mazda CX-9 (2014 – 2015)

3. Hyundai Elantra (2016-2017)

Elantra is a 5-passenger compact vehicle that comes either as a sedan or hatchback body type. It is spacious with a good knee room at the rear seat, roomy trunk, and has a stylish well-designed interior.

The sedan comes with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine except for the Sport and the GT hatchback which comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The Elantra engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Also has a good gas mileage of 31 mpg combined.

4. Ford Explorer (2012-2013)

Explorer is a 7-passenger crossover that comes with a somewhat roomy interior. It has some off-road ability, prioritizes family-hauling, and has an amazing all-weather capability. The explorer is one of the safest Ford models with rearview cameras and blind-spot detectors.

It comes with a V-6 and 6-speed automatic with front-wheel drive with great handling and an all-wheel-drive option. The Explorer has a good fuel economy of 18 / 25 mpg city/highway and can go up to 20/28 mpg city/highway based on the model

5. Honda Ridgeline (2008-2010)

Ridgeline is a spacious five-passenger pickup truck that offers great comfort and ease of use. It is a smooth, quiet, and very maneuverable pickup truck loaded with a lot of useful features – like the in-bed trunk and dual-action tailgate.

Ridgeline comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, which generates 247 horsepower, with a 5-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive. The Ridgeline is a good choice if you want a vehicle with trucklike capabilities but not into the big rigs.
